Responsible to lead all aspects of interior and exterior design for AUSA banners. Serve as the liaison with Brand Marketing to ensure our Brand vision comes to life at store level in all permanent décor, look and feel, and exterior design standards. Lead the day to day coordination of all design development and criteria with the 3rd party Strategy/Design firms. Work closely with the Director Standards and the Director of Innovation to approve and accept responsibility for design standards. Coordinate criteria related to design adaptation in non-prototype stores for use by the Design Adaptation team members, approve all adaptations. Prepare presentations to the CRC (Capital Review Committee) for new design work.
Lead Interior Design: Direct activities related to the development of in store décor design for AUSA. Lead all aspects of the standards development through creative exploration and alignment with the Brand Strategy. Create and manage the design criteria related to interior design, responsible to publish criteria updates and bulletins related to the design. Responsible for the overall standard decor package cost, value engineering efforts, and installation specifications related to the design work.
Manage outside Design Firms: Manage the day to day activities of the 3rd party Design Firm, this includes time management, project identification, contract execution and ensuring deliverables are met with a strong focus on not only good design but with prudent cost controls.
Coordinate flow of design standards to Adaptation Leads: Ensure that the Design Adaptation Managers' have the necessary criteria to successfully execute the package into standard and non-prototypical stores. This includes providing ongoing criteria input, counsel, and feedback on creating "standards of execution" into non standard stores.
Exterior Design and Standards management: Develop and implement Exterior design standards for new store prototypes and banners for AUSA. Collaborate with Sr Mgr A & E to ensure new designs are structurally viable and cost efficient to build. Make recommendations for design modifications for remodel and expansion stores to include but not limited to colors, materials, masonry/stonework.
Brand Liason: Serve as the Store Innovation and Development liaison with the Brand team. This will ensure seamless execution of in store design that is aligned with our brand and customer strategies. This position will lead the consumer testing of new designs with the consumer insights group.
