Reporting to the Director, and based out of our beautiful Waconia, Minnesota offices, the Manager of Marketing Communication for Non-Digital/Print will provide intake of, assign and ultimately deliver all assigned marketing communication projects according to targeted completion dates and within or under budget. This includes balancing/rebalancing team capacity/workflow, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Manager will also oversee the requirements/quality of all assigned deliverables. Specific responsibilities include:

Direct and manage all team members’ workflow; Assess need and make recommendations for additional staff and/or vendor support as needed; Identify and resolve issues within the project team.

Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project deliverables; Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion; Proactively manage scope creep collaboratively with marcom coordinators/project managers, content providers and stakeholders.

Continually negotiate better cost/value across largest vendors.

Update the Marcom Workflow tool as needed to accurately represent current assigned projects’ status.

Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

Manage all marcom budget analyzer codes assigned to your team. Report out/adjust/plan as necessary/required.

As needed, draft, proof, groom and otherwise edit work in process; As needed, provide staff training for observed areas of improvement [either in-sourced or outsourced, as funding permits]; As needed, assist Director with special projects.

Required Skills

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communication or related field required. Master's degree in the aforementioned or related fields preferred

10+ years of generalist marketing communications experience required; experience with branding, visual merchandising, print production and layout, packaging and budget and inventory management all are required

5+ years of staff/people management experience required

Formal project management experience essential

Excellent written communication skills which reflect the ability to write persuasive and/or news stories (non-technical writing) essential

Exceptional interpersonal skills also essential to interact effectively with all organization levels

Must have excellent skills with the various Microsoft Office products, with Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus

Building products industry experience a plus
