The talented Manager of Planning and Scheduling we hire will lead and manage the planning team in the development of manufacturing plans from the Master Schedule and adjust and control the plan to meet sales forecast and the shipping schedule. Work with multiple manufacturing plant Schedulers to develop best practices utilizing Oracle Production Scheduling. Develop the master inventory plan and monitor to ensure the appropriate inventory levels are set and maintained.
Establish the manufacturing plan that delivers the appropriate inventory levels (Raw, WIP and Finished Goods) and production plans, with consideration for demand, re-supply or delivery lead time, storage capacities, shelf life, cost of stock and other factors. Manage inventory levels and coordinate inventory pre-builds to compensate for periods of capacity limitations.
Develop recommendations for senior management regarding production and inventory plans based on sound independent analysis and consideration of multiple variables and cost impact.
Proactively perform root cause analysis, carefully analyzing system data. Develop solutions and drive optimization of the operations and supply chain. Provide periodic assessments including manufacturing capacity for major capital strategy decisions, new product capacity evaluations, production alternatives, and implementation strategies to support new product introduction timing as well as sustainment product.
Work with Plant Managers and Engineering to develop best practices in finite capacity scheduling and development of accurate routings and BOM structures.
Establish/enhance metrics surrounding planning and scheduling to align with overall organizational strategy.
Project lead in the enhancement of all Oracle planning (ASCP) and production scheduling (PS) systems. Identify and implement process improvements and functional technology needs to further optimize the planning and scheduling areas.
Manage the daily activities of the ASCP planners to ensure accurate data attribute settings, proper utilization of all planning tools and synergy between the planning function, sales and execution of the plan at multiple sites.
Seven plus years of planning and scheduling leadership experience required in manufacturing/distribution environments
Bachelor's degree in business or related field required, advanced degree preferred
Production planning or supply chain certifications (CPIM, APICS, CSCP, etc.) preferred
Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory, operations and production control essential
Prior experience with Oracle Value Chain Planning modules required
Strong analytical skills essential
Advanced PC skills, with emphasis on spreadsheet skills and ERP/MRP experience
Demonstrated strong problem solving skills
Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a team orientated environment, with frequent changes in deadlines and priorities
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with various departments and levels within the company
