Title: Practice Manager – Advanced Storage Division (ASD)
Provides leadership, mentorship and value to the ASD field practice in the area of the services strategy and portfolio offerings, presales and delivery capability and overall performance and execution of the business plan. Senior service professional who has demonstrated an ability to lead based on experience, knowledge, passion and competence. Works closely with presales and delivery teams, including partner community, to coordinate and conduct the delivery of high-level solutions. Contributes to the development of practice standards, policies and procedures. Drives utilization, increased revenue and the delivery of billable engagements for EMC products and services. Capable of thought leadership and the ability to dynamically transform service offerings to help EMC deliver on tactical and strategic objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical and/or business consultative leadership for the Advanced Storage practice at the pre-and post-sales level. Proactively provides input into the development of Practices policies, procedures, standards and strategies.
Operates as the liaison between the Professional Services field community and corporate ASD business unit. Perform as the field champion into the product group and maintain ongoing communication with the field in regards to product and corporate changes.
Ensures technology readiness at new product introduction, including supplying curriculum requirements to support product general availability, determining training forecast for both pre and post sales delivery resources, and defining the services portfolio strategy and initial offerings.
Provides leadership in the development of the long term ASD practice curriculum. Ensures appropriate levels of specialization in the practice are being achieved by utilizing various training and development opportunities.
Maintains a level of practice readiness, in order to be successfully prepared to support the delivery of customer engagements (skilled and trained workforce, strong partner relations, tested and proven technical solutions and development methodologies). Ensures adequate level of resources in place to meet profitable demand.
Integrates service industry knowledge with product and market opportunity to develop a comprehensive services portfolio that addresses the technology deployment lifecycle through the stages of planning, deployment and operation with the goal of maximizing the value and ROI of EMC unified technology.
Collaborates with Global Services Marketing to launch services portfolio and develop service programs aligned with and further enable sales campaigns.
Collaborate with TS Tools to develop service tools and migration strategies to improve service delivery and efficiency.
Education Required: Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent

Location: BASED in Hopkinton or NY/NJ with 10-15% travel. Quarterly meetings in Hopkinton.
Must know the business side & see the whole picture (Portfolio Management/product offerings) and make business decisions on volume, revenue, margins.
Must have field experience - have leadership skills to establish readiness plans and enable the field to be ready with new releases and new products. Having experience with ASD Product’s and Offer creation/ positioning a plus.
