This is an exciting role focused on partnering across the global IT Function to improve project execution results. This role provides thought leadership on all areas involved in project execution and to drive systematic improvements to achieve excellence in project results.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Responsible for leveraging internal and external best practices / developing and executing a rigorous set of project assurance processes to improve project execution results.
Execute operations assurance reviews to assess projects readiness to transition to operations.
Leads a team of senior project consultants who will partner with the global Enterprise IT function to review project risk and quality of project deliverables at key project milestones.
Provides mentoring and coaching to IT project managers, decision review board members and decision executives.
Identifies systemic project management issues and proposes solutions that can be implemented as part of overall Project Management Center of Excellence strategies.
Facilitates project lookbacks processes
Reviews project results including root cause analysis investigations to identify systemic causes of variances.
Ensures that best practices and lessons learned are captured and shared with project teams across the IT function.
Deploys methodology, processes and tools relating to business value realization to enable the IT function to better measure and monitor the value that IT projects provide to the business.
Partners with the internal Chevron organizations and leadership teams to evergreen the processes and evolve them in alignment with business direction.
Member of the Project Management Center of Excellence leadership team.
Develops and executes the strategic staffing plan, global recruiting plan and competency development plan for the team.
Manages the performance of work group: holds planning and review sessions; sets clear expectations; provides feedback using input from partners, management, and team leads. Supports Learning Action Plans.
Develops people: provides opportunities for training and development, delegates effectively, rewards educated risk taking, coaches employees, and reinforces role model behaviors.
Manages IT expenditures and budget to ensure optimal use of resources and identify ways to reduce costs while maximizing business value.
Partners with IT Function to agree and set project management agenda.
10 plus years of experience in project management area.
Demonstrated ability to lead change through influencing others to adopt a direction and deliver results.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to connect with all levels in an organization
Knowledge of project methodologies and industry best practices
Experience in driving improvements and delivering results through your team and through other teams.
Masters or Bachelor's Degree.
Previous oil industry experience is preferred.
