This position provides coordination and optimization of refinery operating plans to safely maximize profitability of the assigned refinery and the Tesoro system. Coordinates crude supply, refinery operations, planned maintenance and optimum product disposition using PIMS and other planning tools. Provides leadership and direction for product coordinators and schedulers to safely implement operating plans.
Develops and publishes Weekly Operating Plan. Coordinates hydrocarbon purchase, sales and shipment activities associated with scheduled Turnarounds/Shutdowns and unscheduled shutdowns/slowdowns.
Develops and maintains specified returns on capital employed. Identifies and implements ways of improving refinery optimization and scheduling activities. Shares "best practices" with counterparts at other Tesoro refineries to improve overall planning and scheduling effectiveness. Identifies, implements and coordinates implementation of projects or processes to improve profitability.
Manages Economics & Scheduling Team and assures alignment with location, Supply & Optimization, and corporate goals and objectives. Provides leadership to Operations and Engineering personnel in areas of product optimization, product priorities, maintenance planning, feedstock evaluations, and product quality. Assures adequate off-hour and emergency coverage for all scheduling activities.
Coordinates day-to-day scheduling activities with other Tesoro refineries, S&O and other functions consistent with operating plan. Serves as location focal point for all scheduling activities.
Minimum Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering or other related degree required.
Minimum 10 years related refinery experience required. Experience in process engineering and refinery process modeling preferred.
