This program's mission is to align the divisions and our strategic vendor partners to drive actionable insights and efficiencies from currently under-utilized data using a structured continual improvement methodology.
This associate will be charged with managing cross functional process improvement projects and initiatives and implementing solutions through continual improvement utilizing Six Sigma LEAN concepts. The immediate areas include (but are not limited to) efficiency improvements in network and operations, reducing waste, increasing promotional effectiveness, reducing inventory, and driving on-shelf availability and sales.
This position is accountable for delivering business insights, and change management through process improvements related to designated focus areas and providing ongoing interpretation, objective insights and counsel to Supply Chain, Category Management, Merchandising Services, Project FIX, Divisional leadership and our vendor community. This includes providing Category Management insights and recommendations with targeted operational continual improvement (CI) plans.
This associate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of several on and off-site 3rd Party resources. This position ensures that all data sources and resource expertise are brought together in a synergistic way to answer questions and provide a competitive advantage. Each CI Manager will be the single point of contact for a division across all 18 use cases. Each CI Manager will also be the lead for one of the four focus areas (Promotion Excellence, On Shelf Availability, Unsaleables, Inventory Management).
One of the most important aspects of this role is the cross-functional nature of the position in creating a cross-collaborative forum for change-management. This person will largely influence the future execution in many areas of our business including CAO, Allocations, Unsaleable Management and overall Promotion Execution. It is imperative that our managers have complete understanding of their unique position and that their analysis and recommendations will have a major impact to overall company sales, EBIT and working capital.
This position is also responsible for protecting sensitive customer, associate and company information by: maintaining an understanding of company information security practices and controls; adhering to and enforcing information security policies; ensuring the proper use of sensitive information, including preventing inappropriate system access; ensuring that vendors for whom the incumbent is responsible adhere to Ahold policies; and reporting policy violations or information security breaches. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for maintaining his or her business unit’s record of sensitive customer, associate or company information; assigning appropriate data classifications; approving new instances of storage or use of sensitive information; and resolving any issues related to storage, use, or method of protection. Essential Skills
To be fully proficient in this role, a candidate should possess the following:
5-7 years experience in a related field
Solid understanding of store operations, category management, forecasting, and replenishment,
Proven project management skills: conceptualizing, planning, estimating and executing.
Ability to provide executive level tracking and scorecarding against the $12 Million annual run rate.
Executive level communication and business case presentation skills.
Strong analytical and data analysis skills; experience developing data-driven analytical models of various operations.
LEAN/Six Sigma Experience (Seeking Certification)
Proven track record of delivering high quality results in a timely manner.
Excellent people skills and ability to build strong relationships and lead groups.
Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis/mining software.
Proven ability to influence change
