Job Summary

Establishes, implements and communicates strategy and process for the management of our top tier vendors including trade fund management. Manages the financial analysis of our top vendors including sales, profit, and inventory. Supports vendor negotiations including annual and quarterly joint business planning.

Job Responsibilities
Collaborates with Retail Finance and Business planning to set targets for vendor negotiations strategies and major line reviews.
Develops and delivers training and support for new processes involving deal management.
Monitors sales, inventory, and marketing data across a vast category or multiple categories of merchandise.
Collaborates with pricing and promotions managers to obtain data and perform vendor centric analyses.
Serves as point of contact for top tiered vendors.
Assesses competitive data and provides recommendations of vendor negotiation data points to the Director, Finance in Retail Operations.
Identifies, analyzes and supports opportunities to increase funding.
Engages and develops Analysts with market, competitive, and category promotion and price trends.
Directs analytical projects to identify ways to optimize trade investment spend.
Develops and mentors staff, develops employees through orientation, training establishing objectives, communication policies, constructive discipline; builds employee morale, and motivation.

Basic Qualifications & Interests
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience in an analytical function in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), retail or consulting industries
Knowledge of and applicability of retail data such as Nielsen or IRI
Knowledge of current analytical software and its application in a merchandising analytics environment
Experience with retail finance terms and components (for example: GMROI, Turns, Trade Fund Management, etc.)
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling)
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font)
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns)
Experience using business analytical skills including facilitating requirements sessions and documenting activity workflows and business requirements
Experience in indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications & Interests
Master’s Degree / MBA
Experience in sales and marketing
Experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets
Experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
