The Manager of Application Systems Development will manage the two groups that make up the Information Delivery group, the Financial Reporting team and the Business Objects Administration team. The Manager will report to the Director of Enterprise Business Intelligence Solutions (EBIS). This position will also participate as the lead of the Financial Reporting team. This hands-on Manager will work with the functional and development teams to design and develop Financial, HR, and Labor Accounting (LA) reports implemented in the ARC Portal. The position will work closely with Functional and LA Subject Matter Experts to design, develop, implement and support various enterprise wide reporting solutions. This position also works closely with end users, the Data Management group, the Data Architect, other report developers, and functional teams to design business intelligence, self-service, and operational reporting solutions. The incumbent also works with power users to explain Business Intelligence best practices for their own solutions and to analyze data in the University Data Store (UDS). Individual will have primary responsibility for solutions using Enterprise Standard Reports, Analytical Reports, Dashboards and Scorecards. Individual will have knowledge of financial data, particularly GL data in a PeopleSoft environment. The report developer will work with Functional Teams to program, test, document and implement specific new and modified reports. Manager will also supervise the Business Objects XI (BOXI) administrators to maintain, enhance and upgrade the BOXI platform as needed. This manager will implement BI best practices and will work closely with the Quality Manager to implement ITIL, security and other CUIT best practices. Manager will need to have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

  • Bachelor's degree (in related field). - 5+ years using Business Intelligence tools to implement standard reporting, analytical reporting, statistical reporting, dashboards, and scorecards. - 3+ years with SQL using Oracle or comparable DBMS. - 2+ years as team lead or manager. - 4+ yrs relevant work experience with Crystal Reports and WEBI. - 3+ yrs using Business Objects XI v3 and/or v4. - 3+ yrs query or report optimization experience. - 3+ yrs experience developing reports in a Unix and/or Windows environment. - 3+ yrs using PL/SQL. - Experience working on enterprise wide reporting solutions. - Good knowledge of GL data, especially PeopleSoft Financials Data. - Experience doing BOXI administration. - Excellent understanding of a systems development lifecycle methodology. - Excellent Communications skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Mart architectures. - Experience reporting with PeopleSoft Financials or HR data. - Knowledge of project management best practices. - Experience managing a team of report developers and/or BOXI administrators. - Experience working in a Data Governance environment. - Experience working with Higher Education Solutions. - Experience in project management best practices. - Knowledge of ITIL. - Experience with PeopleSoft HR.
