Oversees in-house hotel AV operations at a smaller hotel property with a small staff including business center staff, AV technicians, Operations Managers and coordinating activities of freelancers. Also oversees events in surrounding areas. Fosters positive working relationships with hotel management and support staff, hotel guests, clients, and event planners as well as VAE management, supports operations personnel and on-site staff. Provides creative as well as technical audiovisual solutions for events through suggestive selling techniques. Oversees and is responsible for equipment inventory and any other temporary equipment used at the property. Adheres to budgetary constraints and understands how to read Profit & Loss statements as well as prepare monthly and annual budgets and forecasts. Mentors support staff for upward advancement and provides continual training. Generates new business opportunities within the hotel and in surrounding areas through prospecting, soliciting RFPs, providing quotes, etc. Must have 2-5 years AV management experience in a hospitality-related environment; i.e. hotels, conference/convention centers and meeting facilities, exceptional communication and customer service skills, demonstrated sales experience/success, extensive knowledge of AV equipment, good computer skills, polished appearance and embodiment of attributes of a consummate professional. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and clean driving record.
