Oakton is seeking a Manager of Development and Alumni Relations for its Des Plaines, IL campus to:
Develop and implement an Alumni Relations program that will include targeted cultivation and solicitation; special events (benefits, receptions, reunions, Alumnae of the Year awards, and the like); Phonathon; and aggressive communication via e-newsletters, Web pages, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other vehicles as appropriate.
Identify major prospects and develop strategic plans for cultivating participation.
Develop, prepare, and present formal fundraising proposals to current donors and prospects.
Implement a system/process to identify and track alumni.
Meet with student leadership groups to introduce them to alumni activities and encourage their participation in alumni events.
Assist in developing and managing donor relations and prospect management systems, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Participate in gift campaigns for capital projects.
Create, manage, and update an integrated alumni and donor database including demographics, biographical and career information, participation at College events, community involvement, and donations.
Represent Oakton at all alumni-related events and speak to both large and small groups.
Perform and manage administrative tasks and projects including corresponding with and responding to alumni requests.
Develop strategy for the Foundations Annual Fund and Employee Joint Appeal.
Partner with the Foundations Manager of Planned and Major Gifts; Special Events and Scholarship Coordinator; and Program Assistant to increase donor support and routinely identify and quality prospects for gifts.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must possess a Masters degree in Marketing, Higher Education, College Student Personnel or a related field; three years of fundraising experience preferably in a college or university; knowledge of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar; impeccable writing and editing techniques; and word processing (Microsoft Word preferred), spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel preferred), and presentation application (Microsoft PowerPoint preferred) skills. Experience with Results Plus, Blackbaud, Microsoft Access, or other database software program(s) is highly desired.
This is a full time position that works Monday Friday, during traditional day time hours and is compensated $47,910 annually. Alternative hours may be required to meet departmental needs.
