We currently have an opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Manager of Human Resources to support our staff located in nineteen offices across the country from our corporate headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois.

The Manager of Human Resources directs personnel management functions relating to recruitment, benefits, compensation, compliance, analytics, and HRIS. The position partners with Managers, Directors, and Administrative Function Managers on practices that support the company’s core values.

Essential Functions of this position:
  • Leads the HR function of the company through the management and ongoing development of the HR team, including HR Specialists and a HR Assistant
  • Manages HR projects/initiatives by coordinating with all functional areas, ensuring that employee and manager perspectives are included
  • Develops Human Resources guidelines and maintains and updates guidelines as necessary
  • Works closely with the Associate Director of Administration and Manager of Recruiting to fill open positions and address staffing needs
  • Works closely with the Benefits Specialist and broker to manage vendor relationships and administer benefits
  • Works closely with Corporate, Directors, and Managers on compensation strategy and is responsible for the design and delivery of compensation programs
  • Informs management of changes in the Legal/Human Resources field and stays abreast of compliance requirements and the impact on guidelines for all locations
  • Acts as Affirmative Action Officer for the Company
  • Analyzes trends related to personnel management
  • Works closely with other Administrative Function Managers and Directors to identify best solutions for data management and retrieval from HRIS and other systems
  • Develops and presents ongoing educational programs for Managers to improve employer/employee relationships
  • Acts as liaison with inside and outside counsel on complex Human Resources issues
  • Works closely with managers on performance management, employee development, and employee relations issues

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • SPHR certification preferred
  • Ten or more years experience in the Human Resources field with management experience
  • Experience working in a professional services environment
  • High level of professionalism
  • Excellent project management capabilities
  • Expertise in employment law and best practices in the Human Resources field with proven ability to customize solutions
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with varying personality types and position levels
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to organize activities, manage competing priorities, and successfully deliver on multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
