Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy, the Manager of Prospect Research is responsible for the identification and management of individual prospects and groups of prospects through the development cycle. In this senior role, the manager will work with the Vice President of Philanthropy to prepare the medical center’s executive and volunteer leadership for a comprehensive capital campaign, ensure an ongoing stream of prospects through innovative identification processes, that includes a grateful patient program, and will work closely with gift officers within the Foundation to develop strategies for engaging and cultivating principle and major gift prospects. The manager will play a significant role in the maintenance, upkeep and performance of the fundraising database, Raiser’s Edge.

Minimum Requirements:
: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience : At least five years of experience in prospect research and management including capital campaign experience. Experience with research in a healthcare/medical school setting is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in a majority of the APRA Research Management Skill Set, including Vision and Leadership, Planning, Systems, and General Fundraising. Ability to manage a comprehensive prospect research and management program with minimal supervision, and develop proactive prospective methodologies to support a multi-million dollar comprehensive campaign. A thorough understanding of major gift fundraising, stewardship and donor relations. Demonstrated ability to think critically and analytically in order to initiate and perform complex analyses. Demonstrated ability to develop and adapt proactive prospecting methodologies to support organization goals. Demonstrated analytical skills in utilizing multiple electronic resources such as Lexis/Nexis, WealthEngine, 10K Wizard and other relevant screening and research tools to locate and compile business and biographic information. Experience performing data integrity, quality assurance and table maintenance tasks in a relational database. Proficiency in using a fundraising database, preferably Raiser's Edge.
