The New 42 nd Street, a non-profit cultural organization in midtown Manhattan, seeks a Manager of Software Solutions who will be responsible for implementing and enhancing applications to meet the evolving needs of the organization. The Manager of Software Solutions will lead the organization in researching and developing new initiatives, streamlining, automating and simplifying processes, facilitating their implementation, educating staff to effectively use the technology, and continuing to support and enhance these systems.
We are looking primarily for someone with a deep base of knowledge of, and experience with, Microsoft SQL Server. This position will create stored procedures, write customized reports and use other SQL-based database and analytics tools to add to the functionality of Tessitura, our enterprise-wide ticketing and fundraising system. Familiarity with Web platforms such as ASP.NET and Microsoft Sharepoint are highly preferred.
This is both a strategic and hands-on position that requires an understanding of a variety of technologies, as well as an ability and willingness to learn new ones.
Additional responsibilities include creating and managing an annual IT budget, coordinating software and hardware upgrades with departmental staff, and managing a wide range of other software projects, large and small, to enhance and support the software throughout the organization.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 or more years' experience writing queries, stored procedures, views and other database objects with Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services or other report-writing tools
A thorough understanding of relational database design and database administration.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft Office products.
Experience with Tessitura Arts Enterprise Software preferred
Experience in ticketing and/or fundraising in the Arts and Cultural Services industry preferred

The New 42 nd Street oversees the revitalization of seven historic theaters on West 42 nd Street in New York City and owns and operates the 499-seat New Victory Theater (New York's first theater for kids and families) and The New 42 nd Street Studios (with a 199-seat theater and 14 rehearsal studios for dance & theater).
