Leading Environmental Efforts in California The California Office, the oldest and largest of nine regional Earthjustice offices, represents environmental, public health, and citizen groups committed to ensuring California’s continuing leadership in reducing reliance on dirty fuels, including fracking and shifting to a clean energy future. It has two locations, the main office in San Francisco and a satellite office in Los Angeles. Our current staff totals 15, including 10 attorneys. We strategically focus on California’s unique challenges while ensuring that our state continues to drive meaningful progress on environmental issues of national and international importance. Our current litigation is geared toward defending all Californians' rights to a healthy environment, including a longstanding commitment to cleaning up chronic air pollution in the San Joaquin Valley; preserving our public lands and special places, such as the Sierra Nevada, the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and Lake Tahoe; ensuring California's continued leadership in addressing the causes and impacts of climate change and air pollution; restoring imperiled native species and their habitats; and protecting regional ocean ecosystem health. Our work is evolving to curtail the impacts of harmful pesticides to farmworkers, their families, and surrounding communities and to respond to new and emerging environmental and public health threats within and beyond state lines.
