VHDA, Virginia's housing finance agency, is looking for a dynamic, diversified leader, to work closely with the Executive Director and the Executive Leadership Team to provide vision and leadership in four major functional areas including: Internal Audit, Quality Control, Enterprise Risk Management and Performance Reporting/Data Analytics. Within these four areas, the Managing Director of Internal Audit and Risk Management is responsible for the management of VHDA's independent and objective assurance and consulting activity, administers the quality control activities required by VHDA's loan guarantors, assists management in providing effective and efficient risk management, control and governance processes, provides a systematic and disciplined performance evaluation and reporting process for VHDA, and assists management decision making processes by providing synthesized data showing key market trends. The Managing Director of Internal Audit and Risk Management also serves as a member of the executive-level Leadership Team, reporting to the Executive Director (with dotted-line reporting to the Board) and is a key partner in formulating strategic direction for VHDA.

This position provides oversight to a staff of 7 associates. This individual will be directly involved in short and long-term strategic planning for the organization; while at the same time, establishing and maintaining partnerships with key groups and stakeholders to enable VHDA to support its mission to provide homeownership opportunities for low to moderate-income Virginians.

Minimum Qualifications
Organization, decision-making, judgment and relationship management are paramount to success in this role. Advanced degree or equivalent work experience and appropriate professional certifications preferred (CIA, CPA, CISA, CRMA, etc.). Internal audit experience preferred along with experience in management of a professional staff. Must have demonstrated skills in leadership, innovative problem solving, facilitation, and negotiations; excellent oral, written, and presentation skills are also required.
