Exponent’s Vehicle Engineering Practice provides a wide range of vehicle evaluation and testing services. Exponent has performed thousands of investigations for the automotive, trucking, marine, aviation, aerospace, and rail industries. Exponent assists clients in assessing preventive measures related to the design of their products as well as evaluating failures. Our Test & Engineering Center (TEC) in Phoenix, AZ, includes a 2-mile oval track, durability course, 10-acre skid pad, and 1,200-foot crash rail.

The Vehicle Engineering Practice is currently hiring for a Managing Engineer to help lead our Southern California Vehicle Engineering consulting efforts. This position can be located in either our Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA office.

Responsibilities for this position include:
Perform comprehensive investigation and technical reconstructions of motor vehicle accidents
Develop and manage client relationships
Project and cost management on case work
Oversee inspections, testing, and engineering analyses of vehicles, accident sites, and other evidence
Manage, mentor, and provide consulting work for junior consulting staff
Develop and grow a Southern California practice for Vehicle Engineering Qualifications for this position include:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related
8+ years work experience in vehicle accident reconstruction
Ability to generate business and manage client relationships
Prior testifying experience is ideal
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This individual will interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and must have the ability to present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible manner
