Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking adjunct faculty to teach an online course in Managing Public Personnel and Information Systems in the Master of Public Administration Program. This course focuses on fundamental concepts and tools for managing the two most important organizational resources – people and information. The course emphasizes application of human resources concepts and tools for attracting, retaining, and developing employees and improving organizational performance. The course also examines the application of information systems concepts and tools for managing public and not-for-profit organizations. It provides opportunity to apply fundamental legal, ethical, and political values for managing human resources and information systems in public and nonprofit organizations.

The instructor must have a Master’s Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a business related discipline; ideally, Human Resources, Information Technology and/or Public or Nonprofit Administration; and significant experience in human resources and/or information technology practice, preferably in a government or nonprofit organization. The candidate will have effective communication skills, both verbal and electronic, be experienced in constructive feedback, possess strong facilitation skills, and understand and be able to apply adult learning theories. Prior teaching experience is preferred, particularly online experience.

In addition to the education and experience listed above, the ideal instructor will have a minimum of 10 years or more professional experience in government or nonprofit information technology and human resources management with at least 5 years of high level leadership experience and involvement in organizational strategy development and execution.
All adjunct faculty positions are part-time. This position would entail delivering content specific materials to adult learners, facilitating discussion, forming a learning community, and grading student work.
