Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Intern




Primary Function of

Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting production released
robotic systems. This support will be
focused on 2-3 projects that deliver improvements in reliability, cost, manufacturability,
and serviceability. The intern will have a Manufacturing Engineer assigned as a
mentor throughout these projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Participates in initiatives focused on yield
improvement, material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, and outsourcing of

Assists in creation and maintenance of efficient
“mid-volume” manufacturing assembly line, specifying and/or refining BOMs,
assembly and test processes and detailed work instructions.

Implements quality system document tracking including
corrective action closure, discrepant material dispositions and change

Support vendors and contract manufacturers with
assembly and test yield issues.

Assist with failure analysis for discrepant production
components and assemblies.

Must possess strong communication skills to interface
with technicians, planning, purchasing, and other external customers.


Skill/Job Requirements:
Candidate must be of high character and energy
with regard for detail.

Demonstrated Electrical and/or Process
Engineering ability.

Demonstrated ability in failure analysis, problem
solving and continuous improvement.

A real excitement
to learn and get to the bottom of problems.

Troubleshooting mind set - an ability to systematically and effectively
break down a system or process into subparts to identify failures and
troubleshoot to component level.

Ability to read
and interpret electronic schematics, assembly and fabrication drawings.

ability to work with computers, electronics, and standard software

Electrical Engineering Major with GPA of 3.2 or

Prior experience with documentation and
production control systems: Agile, SAP.

Prior experience working in an FDA/ISO regulated

Experience in Just-In-Time, Demand Flow
Technology, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
