The Business Process Analyst for Manufacturing Engineering (ME) acts a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for the ME process workstream. Activities include, but are not limited to:
1.) Participating in workshops with Process Partners to validate and clarify business requirements for the Mach1 solution
2.) Reviewing a validating solution design, prototypes, configuration, and documentation
3.) Mentoring other business process analysts
4.) Assisting with “level 4” case management support issues with corporate process owners for root cause analysis and resolution
5.) Working closely with facility planning, assembly & logistics planning and operations assembly to develop robust end to end routings and work instructions.
Incumbent validates business requirements for ME processes, leads data cleansing and readiness activities, including system mapping, data testing and training, validates solution design, including prototyping and configuration for a process workstream, and validates process documentation as part of the template solution. Incumbent will also be responsible to refine or develop end user training materials for the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and related job functions.
This position requires a high degree of experience and expertise in various or specific fields of manufacturing such as welding, heat treat, manufacturing technology, etc. Incumbent needs to have a good understanding of product design to combine with process design expertise to provide for improved manufacturability of parts and major components.
Provides direction and guidance to other manufacturing personnel in a continuous effort to improve manufacturing productivity. Works with suppliers (both internal and external) in the development of projects, which ensure the most efficient and cost effective systems or operations to produce quality products.
Provides leadership in the implementation of integrated technologies within the factory. Develops individual presentations on all integration projects and prepares and establishes priorities for cost effectiveness. Performs liaison duties with various functional areas to promote smooth transition of new and revised corporate and plant systems and operations.
Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc., in performing assigned duties. This position is responsible for the implementation of major systems and the coordination of those systems with the total plant.
Requires considerable experience in the various manufacturing disciplines gained through previous staff and/ or supervisory assignments. Requires analytical ability as well as excellent oral and written communications skills and thorough knowledge concerning the capabilities of both domestic and foreign suppliers. This position would normally be promoted from Manufacturing Engineer 3 or Manufacturing Engineering supervisor.
This position requires a college degree in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline combined with a minimum of 4 years of appropriate manufacturing experience or appropriate equivalent external experience (8 to 10 years).
Job requires highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations. Incumbent often needs to create behavior change in people (including customers, suppliers, other employees, etc.) and/or obtain the cooperation and commitment of subordinates. At times, the position motivates and assesses the performance of other employees.
