Job Summary :
Provide Manufacturing Engineering support for New Product Introduction (NPI). This will include providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input on new products as well as supporting the implementation of the product into the manufacturing area and our contract manufacturing partners.
Key Job Activities:
-Act as technical focal point for the manufacturing support activities with a primary focus on supporting our Design team in NPI activities.
-Actively participate in problem prevention and resolution. Identify the root cause of problems and determine appropriate corrective action.
-Support the transition to manufacturing including the resolution of production and field related problems (if required) for new products.
-Apply analytical expertise and creative problems solving to resolve technical issues.
-Incorporate lessons learned into the engineering design guidelines as well as develop new design guidelines as needed.
-Participate in the continuous review of failure trend data, DFM, DTC, etc. data with the purpose of continuous improvement.
-Plan and implement Manufacturing plans and work stations to support NPI activities.
-Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and work instructions within the Electronic Routing System process.
-Bachelor’s degree. Preferably in Engineering or related discipline.
Experience and skills:
-Minimum of eight (8) years manufacturing engineering experience.
-Prefer NPI, Manufacturing, Sustaining and Contract Manufacturing support experience.
-Electro/Mechanical manufacturing engineering box build experience
-Demonstrated ability to work with computers in a manufacturing control system.
-Able to function effectively in a team environment
-Able to perform data analysis and drive improvement efforts.
