Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, control and troubleshooting of the manufacturing and assembly processes in a satellite facility, this Senior level Manufacturing Engineer position will report into Manufacturing Engineering in our main facility and will be the sole resident manufacturing engineer supporting the satellite facility. This individual must be a self-starter with the skills and confidence to support local management and the maturity to know when to request help from peers within the department.
Responsibilities: · Ensures manufacturability of designs; supports resolution of variant configuration, BOM and routing errors; updates and reviews ECO implementations and reviews new product introductions to ensure efficient integration into production; coordinates new product introduction initiatives throughout the facility.
· Develops robust manufacturing engineering design solutions and techniques for the production team; supports the definition and development of manufacturing processes and documentation; supports the development of tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes; supports the development, optimization and implementation of manufacturing methods and processes through various functions (e.g. line balancing, general assembly flows, process flows, lean implementation, etc.).
· Develops and provides engineering and vendor support; works cross functionally in the introduction of new products; influences change to products through the application of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly; works using application and implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes; works towards completion of projects in multiple areas simultaneously.
· Develops project cost estimates and justifications and associated capital appropriation; develops, implements and optimizes material handling and delivery systems and associated workflows; determines and establishes labor and machine standards; evaluates new technologies.
· Generates ECO's and completes ECO implementations according to established processes, providing implementation requirements and due dates; supports and addresses daily production issues related to BOM, configuration and sales order details through use of Serena database by reviewing issues and evaluating both short and long term solutions.
· Develops and optimizes manufacturing systems; evaluates and recommends new technologies; develops and defines manufacturing process flows and associated tooling and equipment for manufacturing processes; trains and develops lower level engineers.
Qualifications: · Manufacturing process evaluation and development - DFMA principles
· Lean process implementation.
· Creation of work instructions and material routings.
· At least one of the following: SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer and AutoCAD - ECO implementations
· Microsoft Office, including Project
· ROI and Make VS Buy analysis
· Strong oral and written Communications / presentation skills
· Experience working in an advanced ERP system (SAP a plus)
· 5 to 8 years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing engineering environment with a minimum of 1 year in a senior or lead role.
· BS in an engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent background.
· Effective listening skills.
· Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts quickly with win-win solutions.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple projects
· Must be able to work in main facility (Reno, NV) 50-75% during the first six months in position for training and integration purposes
