This position will be responsible for leading manufacturing activities for Aerojet in Redmond, WA, which produces low volume, high complexity satellite rocket engines and electric propulsion. The person in this position will work with a cross functional team of engineers including program management, assembly technicians, and test personnel to ensure quality manufacture of mechanical hardware. Responsibilities include manufacturing process development/maintenance, supplier support, work instruction creation, tool design, personnel training, process ownership, and management of hardware flow through production including budget and schedule.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):

10% - Learning Aerojet systems and performing a variety of manufacturing engineering tasks.

20% - Analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings and documents.

20% - Working on process improvements for our production systems.

20% - Writing work instructions and process instructions to successfully facilitate the build of flight quality hardware.

10% - Assisting in the development of process flows and risk analysis.

10% - Investigating problems which arise in the shops during fabrication or assembly and recommending solutions.

10% - Providing Shop Floor support.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and 2 years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience with electro-mechanical assembly and fabrication. Knowledge of machining, brazing, adhesive bonding, GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), and EBW (electron beam welding) is preferred. Experience in the aerospace industry is also highly desired. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to technical problems with minimum supervision. Experience and familiarity with MS Office products required. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
