The Manufacturing Engineer III will be responsible for working with the operations Manufacturing and Quality teams in developing and implementing more efficient and effective methods of producing products and processes by focusing on safety, service, quality and agility through process improvements. The position will also support Business Unit initiatives for current and new product by conducting and or participating on; part and tool review, product sampling, data analysis, creating manufacturing instructions, defining and creating routings.
Safety Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures at all times. Maintains awareness for potential hazards and communicates ideas for safer alternatives. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor/manager. Product Quality Support the Manufacturing and Quality groups (as needed) on investigating and root cause finding for product quality issues. Lean Sigma Act as Lean Sigma Leader/Mentor through active promotion and implementation of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Leads continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc. Conducts a minimum of 3 BlackBelt level projects per year in support of COS Operations.
Lead inter-departmental teams to achieve a wide range of objectives as mentioned in all responsibilities below. Coach and guide others in Operations towards effective Problem Solving methods and Root Cause investigation. Injection Molding Process Engineering Coordinates and executes product sampling in accordance with the Entegris Way methodolgy. Gather, review and analyze data using appropriate statistical tools. Create appropriate technical reports. Make recommendations and drive efforts for improvements covering all molding technical areas (material, mold, machine and process). Accept ownership of same. Leads interdepartmental technical discussions. A utomation Techniques Promote and support the development of automation techniques throughout the manufacturing areas. New Product Development/Introduction
For current and new product, conducts and or participates on; part and tool review, product sampling, data analysis, creating manufacturing instructions, defining and creating routings.
Assists in training manufacturing personnel in the operation of new equipment and new processes.
Manufacturing Support Evaluates existing processes, develops and implements solutions to improve production yields and process flows in accordance with the Entegris Way methodology. Develops new and innovative ways to manufacture the existing products. Recommends, designs, develops and improves fixtures to facilitate repeatable manufacture of parts to specification. Works with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other team members to decrease cycle time, improve flow and improve yields. Creates new manufacturing documents and makes changes to existing documentation related to manufacturing and assembly processes. Works with Manufacturing team to help specify equipment and fixtures as needed to achieve design intent. Assists manufacturing personnel in resolving problems or concerns arising during manufacturing process.
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or highly related field. 5+ years of experience in Scientific Injection Molding. 3+ years of automated production machinery related to injection molding and/or plastic component assembly experience. Ability to adapt to work environment, work force and customers’ needs.
