The current open position is with the Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) division. The Power Systems division manufactures a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries. Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads.
HPS recognized brands include Anderson, Chance, CDR, Delmar, Electro Composites, Hipotronics, Hubbell Cable Accessories, Fargo, Ohio Brass, PCORE, Polycast, Quazite and USCO with combined service to customers for more than 100 years with quality, innovative products.
Job Description: SUMMARY: Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects. Monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and HPS standards. Ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the effective implementation and expansion of formed wire processes in the Leeds, AL and Juarez, MX facilities.
Coordinate project activities for various processes within the plant (formed wire, machining, foundry processes).
Lead troubleshooting activities for various process issues that arise
Participate in, and at times, lead capital improvement projects for new equipment, retrofits, etc.
Work with Industrial Engineer to create new standard work instructions and documentation as process changes dictate.
Provide training to the shop floor for said changes.
Work with shop floor supervisors to generate and update manufacturing documents.
Inspect equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggest improvements.
Assist in developing and implementing cycle time and cost reduction initiatives through continuous improvement (kaizen) events.
REQUIREMENTS:
BSME.
Minimum 5+ years of experience with various manufacturing processes.
Must have excellent project management skills.
Must have demonstrated success in continuous improvement methodologies.
Must have the ability to travel up to 50% for the first year, with up to 20% travel afterward.
Preferred:
Experience with formed wire processes.
Knowledge of CNC machining, Mills & Lathes.
Knowledge of presses and forming.
Knowledge of machining castings.
Knowledge of foundry processes.
Experience with SAP.
