We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for a client in Lorain, OH. This position will ensure that manufacturing methods, tooling methods, process design, standards, part flow, plant facilities design and performance meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
*Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes specific to gas metal arc welding, resistance welding, orbital riveting, CNC tube bending and forming, automotive assembly and testing.
*Establish labor standards and reviews/audits performance to those standards.
*Analyze part flow and work methods for optimum performance and ergonomic design.
*Maintain plant floor layout and identify/implement improvements.
*Establish/maintain product bills of material and routings.
*Responsible for all customer specific requirements where applicable, including those referenced in the QMS manuals.
*Will document/complete/implement tooling programs; identify/implement cost saving projects.
*Will be involved in production troubleshooting and process scrap reductions.
*Will be the point of contact for manufacturing process root cause analysis of customer issues and concerns.
*Provide technical expertise and support to assist maintenance in equipment downtime resolution and prevention
*Other duties as assigned by Manager.
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field, preferred; or equivalent in experience in the automotive Tier I or II Quality field.
*5 years experience with design and operations of metal stamping and welding processes/tooling.
*Familiar with work measurement and study methods, blueprint reading including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
*Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts, especially standardized work, line balancing, error-proofing, quick changeover, and continuous flow.
*Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
*CAD experience is beneficial.
