This position will work in tandem with the existing M.E. Manager to lead and inspire a team of highly skilled techs and engineers. The successful candidate will:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating the Boeing Management attributes.
  • Ensure that business requirements and employee needs are appropriately balanced.
  • Implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Monitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.
  • Forecast resource needs and obtain/manage personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet project and daily
operating requirements. Acquire, deploy and schedule personnel to meet project and operational objectives.
  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities/job assignments to enhance employee performance and
expand capabilities. Provide on-going developmental feedback. Recognize contributions of individuals and teams to improve
employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Develop workgroup, project or operational goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company
vision/strategy. Measure progress, making adjustments as needed. Hold direct reports accountable for achieving goals.
  • Establish relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports. Proactively communicate with employees, peers
(e.g., fellow first-level managers) and customers. Implements policies, procedures and documents to ensure consistent
execution of processes within workgroup in support of Boeing and regulatory requirements.
  • Systematically evaluate proper job classification of employees, set employee goals and objectives, manage and evaluate
performance to plan on a reoccurring basis. Assign employee salaries based on employee value and Boeing guidelines to
provide a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for projects or
processes. Ensure workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you have direct experience in at least two engineering and/or manufacturing disciplines?

Do you have experience leading a multidisciplinary team in implementing a new product, process improvement, or material improvement?

Typical Education/Experience

A BS/BA in an Engineering field is required with 12-15 years experience in an Engineering function. A PE license, and MBA preferred.
