Latham Pool Products, Inc. the largest manufacturer of swimming pool components and pool accessories in North America, with over 900 employees in 21 locations, is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician.

Primary Function : Provides drafting, administrative and technical support to engineering and manufacturing under direction of Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities Include :
  • Provides the necessary CAD drafting support to develop and maintain all engineering drawings under ME control
  • Completes the necessary documentation to enter and maintain “Bill of Materials.” This will include developing new part number request, BOM updates, specification sheets and required drawings
  • Provides the necessary technical support to help develop, specify, and improve existing manufacturing processes
  • Work with internal staff, purchasing and vendors on the design, quoting and procurement of special equipment, jig and fixtures and tooling to support the manufacturing processes as required
  • Work with NPD engineering staff and others within the company concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
  • Sets up and conducts tests of various equipment and products being evaluated by Manufacturing Engineering. Investigate potential design changes for improving equipment or products to enhance performance
  • Assist the Quality Department in the documentation of approved manufacturing procedures and records in the proper format. May also make recommendations for changes in product or testing methods
  • Keeps complete and accurate records of all projects
Requirements :
  • Associate ’s degree in a technical field required. Bachelors degree preferred in the mechanical, manufacturing or industrial field
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Computer aptitude ; Proficient in the use of Auto CAD /Inventor Design software; Excel; Word
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including being self-motivated, accepting responsibilities, completing assigned action items and participating in a proactive manner in all team events
