Develop and apply optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products; supports documentation and design of existing products and production processes, applies Lean principles and tools with emphasis on continuous improvement, maximizing efficiencies and cost reduction.

Is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position will be located at our Ventura, CA facility.

This position is responsible for developing and takes action with respect to manufacturing and facilities related initiatives, interfacing with vendors where required, coordinating fabrication & assembly tooling, equipment needs, and ongoing awareness of new technology to improve the manufacturing process through continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Analyze, develop & implement process improvement and preventive action plans, using recognized manufacturing & industrial engineering methods including application of recognized Lean initiatives and techniques and layout and workflow modifications to maximize efficiencies.

Actively support facilities changes, consolidations, relocations and improvements through Lean efforts, such as Kaizen related activities.

Initiate and support improvements to existing products by, writingESR’S and coordinating/carrying out release of resulting ECN’S, including performing “basic, fit, form & function” changes/updates to existing CAD drawings. Coordinate with design and sustaining engineers to implement all modifications to existing products to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards &/or customer requirements, as required.

Coordinate information related to product BOM’s and router files with the Configuration Management group. This includes performing time studies on new and existing products to determine or update costing and the development of routers / assembly procedures using all available documentation techniques.

1. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (BSIE, BSMfgE, or BSME) from four year college; and

5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment; and

Previous experience desired in implementing advanced manufacturing methods & tools (example, Lean Mfg., Kaizen, Six Sigma, DFM, Demand Flow, Cellular Mfg., KAN-BAN, FMEA’s, etc….) with a proven record of process improvements and cost reduction accomplishments required; and

Equivalent combination of education and experience.
