Direct the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet delivery, quality and cost objectives. Prioritize production schedules based on labor capacity, equipment constraints and material availability. Lead in the development, implementation, and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Plan, budget and administer manufacturing equipment, resources and processes in line with overall business objectives. Make recommendations regarding high level controls, capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor decisions. Develop schedules and maintain manpower models for all areas on the production floor. Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient functioning of the manufacturing operation. Responsible for budgeting, planning, organizing, integrating, coordinating, and controlling the activities of a department, section, and/or functional area. Work may be accomplished through subordinate supervisors or direct management of employees. Accountable for results in terms of costs, budgets and operational goals. Possess a comprehensive technical knowledge of the function, business, and/or department being managed, along with the managerial skills necessary to successfully lead a department. Develop an understanding of overall Brooks’ businesses and the industry. Resolve diverse and complex business problems often requiring creativity. Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selection of methods and techniques for arriving at solutions. Decisions typically follow established policy and precedents and apply to situations affecting immediate group. Accountable for achieving the annual goals and objectives assigned to the department or section. Goals may be of financial, operational, and/or human resources related. Failure to achieve goals and objectives or erroneous judgments and/or decisions could impact the larger organizational goals.

Responsibilities: Responsible for consistently delivering a quality product on time. Must communicate effectively with direct reports, peers and throughout the organization to achieve organizational objectives. Assign necessary training of direct reports to ensure their continued growth in support of a continuous quality improvement culture. Lead safety and development efforts. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance. Responsible for ensuring training in emergency response, hazardous material handling, industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities for the local site. Recommend corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. Responsible for recording and analyzing quality metrics and adhering to documented manufacturing policies and procedures to ensure a consistently high quality product. Utilize labor capacity model to effectively manage hiring, reduction and overtime planning in line with business forecast. Will support current batch or lean manufacturing programs. Responsible for presenting key manufacturing metrics to peers weekly and to senior management quarterly. Support NMR process and Calibration / Total Preventative Maintenance programs. Support multiple New Product Introductions as part of a team consisting of Marketing, Development Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Service.

Required Skills: This is a hands-on/ working manager position. Bachelor’s degree in addition to 4+ years experience in a production management role required, including supervisory experience. Background in manufacturing, with Electronics / Electro-Mechanical / Mechanical fields a must. Must have experience implementing lean manufacturing processes and program, as well as experience in ISO 9001 and ISO 13465 implementation and processes. Must have the ability to work with a diverse workforce and to communicate clearly and effectively. Experience on Oracle a must, and experience in the Biotech Industry preferred.
