Verathon Manufacturing Manager
Verathon is seeking a talented Manufacturing Manager who will bring strong leadership skills to continually improve the manufacturing operations of our medical device business. He or she will help drive the transition of Verathon's legacy manufacturing paradigm into a world-class Lean Manufacturing environment with high quality standards, implement Lean systems and processes and create a culture of Continuous Improvement. The Manufacturing Manager will be a self-driven change agent with the ability to set annual plans and develop teams to deliver against forecasted build plans. These initiatives will also include launching new medical device products and supporting acquisition strategies.
Lead the overall activities of the manufacturing operations to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customers' requirements while maintaining QSR, GMP and established quality standards
Develop and execute manufacturing-specific strategic vision, mission and objectives to assure continuous improvement.
Architect the overall succession planning and development of manufacturing supervisor / leads.
Drive a culture of high performance and accountability for both "how-to" and outcomes.
Provide personal direction in the resolution of current operating problems of a critical nature in order to maintain maximum continuity of production at desired safety, quality, cost, and customer service levels.
Embrace and achieve Verathon annual improvement targets given to the plant.
Balance production demand with workforce requirements.
Drive Verathon's Lean Journey throughout the manufacturing system.
Create an environment of People Involvement and operator ownership of methods and outcomes which gives life to Lean.
Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, including capital expenditures and cost management.
In partnership with Verathon QA / RA, ensure that Manufacturing is fully and continually compliant with all relevant FDA, ISO13485, GMP and FDA 21 CFR regulations and guidelines.
Support Verathon QA / RA and New Product Development in obtaining and maintaining relevant product registrations in all global target markets.
Participate fully in phase-gate product development processes to ensure that maturing products incorporate Design for Manufacturability, Serviceability and Cost.
"Own" Standard Cost targets for new products in development and ensure that Continual Cost Improvement can be met post-launch.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required (Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Accounting or related discipline preferred).
8-10 years of operations manufacturing experience including 5 years leadership experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
Experience in a Lean Manufacturing Environment highly preferred.
Ability to recruit, hire, develop, coach, and mentor talent for current and future needs.
Strong PC application skills including Microsoft Office Software and Excel.
Proven experience creating and maintaining an environment of open and professional communication by utilizing interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
