The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement at PCC Airfoils Douglas, Georgia facility. This position reports directly to the General Manager.
Set strategy and lead process improvement activities ensuring initiative alignment with business and financial goals.
Partner with Manufacturing Area Managers, Engineering and Quality to assist in project identification/selection, assure linkage between projects and business and customer priorities and drive results.
Deliver significant operational improvements and financial results from Cost of Poor Quality and Total Operating Costs.
Train and coach Process Owners, Champions, Process Improvement Leaders and project teams in the use of improvement tools and methodology to ensure timely completion of projects with expected internal and external customer results.
Create dashboards to monitor performance and improvements of key metrics.
Act as change agent to instill Six Sigma/Lean culture throughout the organization.
Lead complex, high-visibility projects across multiple functions and businesses including suppliers and customers.
Key deliverables are measurable improvements in scrap and re-work, and 2% quarter over quarter variable cost and productivity improvements.
Self-directed, team player with 5+ years experience in a Six Sigma/Lean driven environment with 2+ years of experience in leading Continuous Improvement. Experience in driving business transformations to a Six Sigma/Lean culture is highly desired. Demonstrated delivery of measurable performance improvements in cost, quality and delivery.
Technical competency in Six Sigma skills: DMAIC, DFSS, Lean, Kaizen/Work-out, process management, change management and advanced statistical techniques.
Experience coaching and delivering training at all levels of an organization.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Visionary with long term focus - able to see the end result.
Ability to create an open environment supportive of free sharing of information and ideas that is also conducive to contribution, growth and achievement.

Manufacturing/Industrial and customer facing experience preferred.
Proficiency in Windows, Minitab, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and simulation software.
Must have strong P&L mind-set, bias for action, and ability/desire to develop into Area or Operations management position.
Bachelor’s degree – technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred
Formal Six Sigma/Lean training/certification preferred
