JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Experienced electronic technician specialist must lead the production custom shop in completion of high quality electromechanical assemblies in response to production orders and first articles in an organized, accurate, and timely manner. In addition, this position will assist in other areas of Gopher production as directed or needed.
Design and build customer samples and first articles. Design electronic assembly and capture on CAD software.
Specifying and purchasing and required tooling needed to perform required job.
Build prototype or first article.
Fabricate parts necessary for custom production builds.
Advise Manufacturing as technical support for production runs.
Create and manage production department documentation such as work instructions and print packages. Design and modify CAD system drawings.
Create technical work instructions and certifications necessary for precise manufacturing.
Develop quality sampling method and process for manufacturing work orders.
Create quality test and inspection plans to ensure defect free delivery.
Develop and deploy job aids when applicable to ensure repeatable results.
Train manufacturing personnel on new job skills when applicable.
Manage and control Production department machines and tooling. Maintain existing FFC machines.
Maintain crimpers and all wire tooling.
Manage Gopher Electronics calibration program.
Quality inspect completed products in a timely manner (1 working day) to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and develop rules, and methods to: Assure Gopher is delivering what the customer ordered.
Prevent and capture errors before reaching the end customer.
Highlight areas that need attention, training, and further review.
Utilize CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) system for quality improvement.
Perform FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) documentation upon request (measure/document part dimensions).
Assist production quote team by being technical resource on any quoting activity. Assist quoting with technical print based quotation questions.
Assist production department with orders when needed.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, and EXPERIENCES
Two or Four year technical degree, preferably in electronics.
Electronic assembly and wire harness experience preferred.
Experience with electronic test equipment and components.
Accurate use of precision measurement tools and skilled in the use of hand tools.
Demonstrates the ability to read and create technical documentation and manufacturing requirements.
Read and understand schematic diagrams. Experience with CAD software.
Light fabrication experience necessary.
