Job Title: Marine Dispatcher
Location: Kingsland (preferred, other location options are Greenbriar, VA and Havre De Grave, MD)

Job Summary:
This position’s primary responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating barge movements with the Tug Boat Captains ensuring the proper utilization of the crews and the company’s barges and tug boats. This will be accomplished through the use of our logistics and distribution system (Tow-Works) and our time and attendance system (Kronos).

Required Skills

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates will be required and expected to :
 Schedules and coordinates the flow of work based on customer orders in conjunction with the Tug Boat Captains and Sales Yard Manager.
 Establishes priorities based on inventory levels at the sales yards.
 Monitor and track results to establish methods to improve overall cost and efficiency.
 Provide daily reports including barge and boat placement and updated load schedule.
 Ensures that tugs and barges are properly crewed and any vacancies are back-filled.
 Will be responsible to monitor and submit employees work hours through our time and attendance system.
 Will assist the operations team with the upkeep and monitoring of the computerized maintenance management system (EMS), coordinate scheduled down time and repairs to boats and barges with Manager Maintenance Services.
 Ensure that all safety procedures and company guidelines are adhered to and that training and credentials of employees are kept up to date.
 May be assigned reporting / recordkeeping duties to regulatory agencies (USACE). Will be responsible for the database management for the EPA’s Vessel General Permit (VGP).

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of logistics and
distribution experience is required. A bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business and
two years of marine logistics experience is preferred. Candidate should have a
working knowledge of time and attendance systems and logistic and distribution
software systems.
