Job Description

Position Summary:
This position focuses on maintaining the long term stability and competitiveness of OpenX Market. He or she will work with world class academics in the field of markets and auction design, translating the latest literature into actionable initiatives. The ability to provide strategic innovation and product validation will be important—conducting empirical analyses on real-world data to test theoretical models and validate hypotheses. There will be hard questions about the core mechanisms of our business model that require in-depth research and thought in order to be answered. The individual will also work directly with numerous company units and have significant opportunities to define important aspects of the company and the industry as a whole.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a group of world class academic research teams focused on market design and asset pricing
  • Facilitate the integration of scientific research into OpenX products and services
  • Execute empirical analyses to translate between theory and practice
  • Solve complex market questions by building statistical and programmatic methods
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of theoretical and analytical work experience in market design, or a related PhD degree
  • Superior ability to conduct in-depth research
  • Able to form succinct insights and recommendations from comprehensive analyses involving large amounts
of data

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations,
interface and effectively communicate with multiple levels of management

  • Strong programming background with quantitative experience
  • Extremely proactive with a strong bias for action, naturally inquisitive with a desire to continuously improve
  • Ability multi-task, take charge and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Passionate about working in a fast paced start up environment
