Ensures the success of day-to-day Residential and MDU sales activities. Encourages and promotes sales of the Company's products and services. Organizes special events such as trade shows, festivals, or demonstrations to promote and sell company products and services.
Directly supervises direct sales staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company?s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Conducts weekly and daily sales meetings. Initiates or suggests plans and/or promotions to motivate workers to achieve sales goals.
Maintains and strategizes sales tactics for upcoming quotas and company goals.
Compiles, composes, types, proofreads, edits, prints and files various documents, utilizing writing implements, typewriter, personal computer, word processing and electronic spreadsheet software, printer.
Assigns sales leads and street allocations to appropriate Sales Reps. Follows up with Sales Rep on a regular basis to ensure proper frequency and quality of customer contact, and to offer sales guidance and suggestions.
Responds to customer/client complaints and resolves them.
Motivates, trains, and directs the sales efforts within the teams to achieve sales goals. Ensures team?s presence in the market, and audits team?s sales allocation to maintain established sales standards and quotas. Performs miscellaneous duties including customer account research, customer complaint resolution, special reports and projects. Reports daily sales activities to Director, Consumer Sales.
Travels locally and outside the local area, using air and/or ground transportation. Travel may encompass more than one day, including weekend days. Acts as a public representative for the Company, ensuring that the customer understands contract terms and conditions and payment procedures. Exercises constant awareness and knowledge of privacy issues while working with customer records.
Serves as initial contact for members of the public with the Company. Directly interfaces with customers on all matters relating to provision of video, Internet, and telephony products and services.
Maintains a professional sales posture at all times and actively seeks out sales opportunities. Responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue generation quotas specified in the Sales Compensation Plan.
Audits current database records and makes corrections, additions and deletions as verified through door-to-door sales efforts.
Uses computer to access information for system price quotations. Maintains files of customer records, pending quotations, and other pertinent material. Accurately completes all contracts on a timely basis.
Solves problems under existing general policies by using computers to access customer records, research the problem and develop solution(s). Immediately notifies manager of any potential problem areas discovered or suspected with any priority and/or major account. Reports all competitive sales information available to appropriate personnel.
Demonstrates products and services at trade shows located at various sites in the service area. Communicates with customers or potential customers, answering questions about Company products and services.
Attends local training sessions for new systems or service and/or upgrades, as required.
Participates in development of expense budgets and sales volume objectives.
Reports for work on time and maintains a satisfactory attendance record.
Technical training or knowledge: Knowledge of Cable TV, Satellite Programming, Internet providers and telephone products and services. Must have basic keyboard knowledge and proficiency with word processing software, excel, good grammar and verbal skills, and an ability to work independently, yet thrive in a team-oriented culture.
Professional training or knowledge: Clear understanding of the principles of selling and ability to skillfully apply the knowledge. Ability to close sales, while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
Work experience: Minimum of three years of experience in direct or retail sales management and a at least two years experience in direct or retail sales in the Cable TV, Internet, or telephone industry.
License required: Valid Driver?s license. Must have clean DMV record and auto insurance coverage.
General education or equivalent: Bachelor?s degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
Physical Demands: Physical demands are minimal and generally consistent with the performance of routine sales duties. Some of the day is spent sitting at a desk, working with computers, printers, files, and standard office equipment. Some of the day is spent walking, standing, and occasionally bending, stooping and sitting. Additionally, this position requires traveling by personal or Company vehicle, sometimes in inclement weather, to meet with customers. Movement is required in the use of office equipment, supply locations, files, and other work locations and meeting rooms. Lifting, generally less than 20 pounds occasionally required for transporting boxes, materials to and from vehicle. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
