Account Manager, Client Development
SupplyTrack

The Account Manager will be working on-site at the client headquarters located in Houston, TX. As the account manager, you will grow relationships and drive client satisfaction by delivering insightful industry analyses to support the client’s business needs in functional areas such as strategic planning, marketing, and sales for our SupplyTrack service. In this role you will be the main day-to-day contact delivering against both tactical and strategic requests and will expand NPD’s contacts in appropriate functional areas. SupplyTrack® is the first and only monthly tracking service that codes, aggregates, and tracks every product shipped from a critical mass of leading broadline distributors to each of their foodservice operators.

This position reports to the Executive Director, Distributor Development who is based in the Chicago office.

Job Responsibilities:

Client Management
• Serve as the primary contact for the functional groups at the client
• Ensure a high level of client satisfaction is maintained through delivering value and insights
• Build client’s perception of NPD as measured by the annual NPD Client Satisfaction Survey
• Participate in preparing for and setting annual joint objectives. Assist with identifying and quantifying Measurable Business Results
• Establish self as the master of all categories
• Consistently demonstrate the ability to answer questions and provide insights about strategic and tactical client issues
• Assist with identifying potential opportunities for additional support through NPD products and services
Functional
• Provide on-site response on data requests, technical issues, and support of analyses
• Be well-versed in all appropriate NPD methodologies and industry information
• Efficiently pull NPD data and create customized deliverables using NPD proprietary software and other appropriate methods
• Accurately interpret data and incorporate industry knowledge to deliver actionable insights in a client-friendly format, as appropriate for the audience
• With manager, design analytical and information plans for the client and conduct business review sessions to drive use and acceptance of the NPD SupplyTrack service
• Manage and track projects from initial request through completion
Deliverables
• Manage client changes to reports, flat files, custom templates, etc.
• Manage communication to client about NPD upgrades and restatements and their impact to data and client deliverables
• Proactively provide client information about product hierarchy changes, the introduction of new products and changes to the client’s data feed
• Perform quality control checks on all deliverables
• Manage data quality questions and issues from inquiry to resolution, working with NPD’s Chicago and Port Washington based teams
• Training: contribute to one-on-one and/or small group training with the client regarding SupplyTrack data, data utility, applications and NPD software
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the Foodservice, Consumer Packaged Goods and/or Retail industry
• 5-8+ years of experience in client servicing, market research or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to interact proactively with all client levels, set and manage expectations, articulate information effectively
• Proficiency in building collaborative relationships
• Strong POS/Consumer research knowledge
• Organizes and thinks through large amounts of information, arriving at a succinct conclusion; strong attention to detail
• Juggles multiple projects in a deadline-oriented work environment
• Developed presentation skills with audiences of various sizes and management levels
• Keeps others informed and up-to-date
• Self-motivated
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Willingness to work on-site at the client location five days per week
