The Consumer Technology business at NPD works with some of the most well-known and exciting companies in the world. The Account Manager is responsible for helping to grow NPD’s business with these companies. You will accomplish this by developing relationships with existing contacts while expanding our reach within the client organization.

The ideal candidate is comfortable presenting to executives that will challenge them, while at the same time is willing and able to dig into the data and find relevant trends. Building relationships comes naturally. You are passionate about tech – you read Engadget and The Verge, Mossberg and Pogue, you attend CES and you have an opinion on which companies are doing things right and which companies should be doing things better.

Overall Responsibilities:
•Establish and manage client relationships with assigned clients
•Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for NPD
•Negotiate new contracts, renew existing business
•Ensure overall client satisfaction
•Provide day-to-day tactical support
•Expand the client base to include a broader mix of end users at assigned clients through the effective demonstration of how NPD data will help them accomplish their goals
•Work effectively with internal support teams
•Understand and be able to explain NPD’s data assets, delivery tools, and product roadmap
-5-8+ years of experience in a client servicing or sales capacity with a market research firm or equivalent, consumer technology industry experience is also preferred.
-Outstanding presentation skills.
-Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
-Strong organizational and project management skills.
-Communicates effectively with all levels, with the ability to work independently.
-Competent in entire selling process, with a demonstrated success in contract negotiations and account planning experience.
-Competent analysis and writing ability – able to distill diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories both in presentations and word documents.
-Travel (typically 20-25%).
-BA/BS or equivalent.
