Market Research Manager
Business Sub Function:
Plans, directs and coordinates the external market research and analysis for products, acquisitions, licensing deals, distribution agreements and other business arrangements with outside companies or individuals to bring new products or technology to Stryker Endoscopy. Will also help business units develop strategies for long term growth.
Lead all market research-related activities for Endoscopy division
Conduct research at various product life-cycles, from R&D to post-launch phase, including related primary and secondary research
Use various methods for conducting research, including syndicated reports, focus groups, customer interviews, and surveys
Maintain existing sources for collecting data, establish new sources as needed
Coordinate relationships with outside firms corporate wide
Review current protocol for analyzing internal & external data; revise as needed
Routine/Frequency (i.e. Monthly, Quarterly, Annual)
Identify level of confidence (+/-)
Identify $ & Unit movement w/in product lines
Identify Demand trends for product lines
Identify Penetration w/in regions, by product v. procedural volumes
Identify life cycle trends of major product lines
Strategic Plan- assist in coordinating Endoscopy Marketing portion of Strategic Planning Process
Coordinate Marketing portion of annual planning process and update quarterly
Lead market analyses required to complete Endoscopy budget process
Identify growth opportunities based upon Market Analysis
By market/product line – (Arthroscopy, General Surgery, Visualization, OR Integration)
Competitor Analysis and Surveillance
Quarterly conference call summaries, earnings updates
Coordinate market and revenue projections for potential acquisition candidates
Lead market analysis portion of due diligence efforts for active acquisition candidates
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must be able to review printed materials
Must be able to communicate with large groups of people
Must be able to communicate telephonically
Must be able to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, fax machine, etc.)
Must be able to travel up to 25% annually
Must be able to generate and explain detailed forecasts, guidelines and procedures
Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine marketing issues using independent judgment
Must be able to routinely make decisions which may affect immediate marketing operations and have a divisional effect
Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.)
Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Stryker Endoscopy Sales Training Program.
4-6 years related sales and/or marketing experience.
Training and/or experience in business-to-business Market Research function preferred
Education/Special Training Required
B.B.A. or B.S.
