Conducting and managing full-scale primary research using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed techniques. Requires flexibility and expertise to design and execute entire primary source study, including overall project design, instrument development, sampling, survey programming, fielding, analysis, and report writing. Specific projects may include CVA/satisfaction analysis, market/opportunity assessment, market segmentation, needs analysis, brand tracking, and market sizing. Statistical analysis of primary and secondary datasets.
Conducting secondary research, including competitive analysis, online searching, social media mining, and ability to pull together information from multiple resources to uncover market trends and developments.
Conducting and managing other kinds of analysis projects, including data mining and forecasting.
Managing relationships with outside agencies for research and analytic projects that are outsourced, including contract development and day-to-day oversight. Will require ability to conduct statistical and qualitative analysis for projects administered as field and tab, including ability to select, execute, and interpret univariate and multivariate statistics.
Bachelor's degree required.
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a research/analytical role either with a corporation or a market research/consulting agency.
Proficient with a statistical analysis software package (SPSS or SAS) required; SPSS preferred.
Knowledge and proficiency with a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies required.
MBA a plus.
Comfortable with large datasets.
Demonstrated experience in in-depth interviewing techniques and focus group moderation a plus. Demonstrated experience with forecasting and data mining a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with a proven ability to translate statistical results into business-based conclusions and insights.
Experience with business to business research and knowledge of the paper and/or packaging industries a plus. International research experience (data collection and analysis of markets outside North America) a plus.
Ability to collaborate with other research professionals (internal and external) as well as internal clients.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work load.
Creative self-starter and problem-solver; inquisitive and willing to dive deep on business analysis to uncover underlying dynamics and relationships.
Familiarity with CRM systems (Siebel, Salesforce.com or equivalent) and Hyperion a plus.
