PURPOSE

Responsible for developing financial analytics to identify key market trends and translate them into impact on business activities. Understands current market trends and competitor actions, enabling ProBuild to proactively capitalize on market opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops financial analytics and drives market research and competitive analyses.

Prepares quantitative and qualitative reports to develop market sizing, market strategies and programs, product requirements, pricing, positioning, service and operational strategies.

Participates in creating consistent methodologies and frameworks for identifying and assessing market risks and opportunities.

Develops segmentation, predictive & business analyses using SAS in a large data warehouse environment.

Designs research plans against business objectives, timelines and budget for operations or unique business activities.

Presents learning and insights as a basis for strategic decision making to Executive Team, Marketing and Finance peers.

Works across the organization to partner in developing consistent segment-level strategies for acquiring, profitably serving, and growing market opportunities.

Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

COMPETENCIES

Knowledgeable in market and product research, competitive analysis and best-practices investigation

Strong modeling skills including the development of cluster analysis, logistic regression, linear regression techniques (GLM), forecasting and time series analyses.

Strong analytical, reasoning, and strategic thinking

Strong written and oral presentation / communication skills – the ability to convey complex information simply and clearly to senior business leaders

Ability to make complex business decisions

Ability to exhibit flexibility and adapt quickly

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Strong financial and reporting acumen

Demonstrated ability to self-direct, analyze, evaluate, and form independent judgments

Collaboration / teamwork skills

Excellent project management skills

Knowledge of building industry a plus

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of professional business experience with a minimum of three (3) years prior experience in market research/strategy; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
