This position is responsible for the development and execution of strategies to increase penetration in the mining, oil & gas industries globally . Identification of key specifiers (EPC’s, Consultants), contractors, end-users, and channel partners in the Mining, Oil and Gas industries is essential. Sales growth will be achieved by developing effective value propositions, driving preference for Cooper solutions, and effectively managing the channel to market. This will require close coordination with sales management, sales agents and distribution engaged in the solar vertical market.
Additionally, this position is responsible for collaborating with Product Marketing and Engineering to gather VOC, prioritizes and commercializes new specific product solutions, both organic and through partnerships (branding) and M&A. While initial focus will be in the North American markets, the multinational nature of the customer base will naturally result in the incumbents involvement in international projects on a selected basis coordinating with local CPS sales channels in the regions.
Essential Job Functions
Develop comprehensive strategic plan for these market segments.
Identify and engage Developers, EPC’s and End Users to drive specification/preference for all Cooper Power Systems products.
Perform VOC with target customers.
Develop Sales tools and value propositions.
Identify and engage channel partners that have strong pre-existing business relations such as distributors with national or global accounts with players in these industries.
Collaborate with Business Unit Marketing to drive new product develop and M&A to augment product scope.
Achieve sales forecasts per strategic financial plan.
Support sales management and agents by making joint sales calls and territory visits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Marketing, Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years experience with business development, product management, product/marketing or sales management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years experience in the mining or oil & gas industry.
2 years of experience in Industrial/Construction Sales and/or Marketing.
3 years of experience in strategic planning, sales and marketing, budgeting, forecasting.
Analytical; experience with market research techniques.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to get results through others in a crosss-functional team.
Ability to travel 30-50%.
