We currently have an opening for a Regional Marketing & Proposal Manager in our Irvine or Los Angeles, California office locations. Please read on for more information and consider joining the strong and dynamic Marketing Team for the PMCM Division of ARCADIS.

This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility (e.g., working flexible or extra hours to meet deadlines) and the ability to shift priorities frequently while maintaining attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and achieving high quality standards. Candidates must be able to multi-task, function effectively under strict production deadlines and time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and be able to manage time efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while demonstrating an energetic 'can do' attitude.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • As a member of the division marketing team, the Regional Marketing & Proposal Manager works closely with the Marketing & Communications Director and oversees the Western Region Marketing Team to support the marketing efforts and business development activities for the Western Region (primarily California, Arizona and New Mexico)
  • Mentors, coaches, trains, and motivates a team of subordinate marketing staff
  • Assigns and balances workloads and priorities
  • Works with business development and operations staff to plan and execute marketing campaigns and lead generation strategies
  • Conducts market research, competitive analyses, etc. to identify potential opportunities and screen leads
  • Manages qualification, proposal, and presentation activities
  • Manages the proposal development process from initial plan and kick-off meeting through production and delivery of the finished product
  • Plans, edits and produces content for items such as proposals, statements of qualifications, presentations, marketing collateral, handouts, and promotional materials
  • Assists pursuit teams to develop and communicate effective win strategies
  • Manages and organizes marketing information, including project descriptions, staff resumes and photography
  • Attends client pre-proposal and debrief meetings
  • Coordinates conference exhibits and sponsorships
  • Tracks marketing campaigns and updates the sales pipeline with information on leads and opportunities
  • Oversees recruiting and training, interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, and professional development of staff.

In the PMCM (Program & Construction Management) Division of ARCADIS, our primary business is construction consulting; assisting owners with the management of their projects from conception to occupancy. As a recognized leader in evaluating and successfully resolving complex construction issues and disputes, one of our greatest strengths is resolving construction-related problems before they escalate into much larger matters. This is the specialty of our Construction Claims Consultants; they provide dispute prevention, dispute mitigation and dispute resolution to help clients through each phase of their project.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum years of experience: At least 5 years of experience in a marketing or proposal-management position (Note: this is not a sales or business development position). At least 5 years of marketing, public relations, writing or related experience.
  • Education required: BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Registrations/Certifications required:
  • Skills required:
  • At least 3 years of A/E/C industry experience & basic understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and delivery methods
  • Thorough understanding of the RFP and proposal-development processes
  • Good mentoring/teaching abilities and leadership/managerial skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (This position requires extensive writing and frequent communication via phone, email and in person with co-workers, clients and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule)
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong graphic and computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint and at least a working knowledge of photo editing with Photoshop and page layout with InDesign or QuarkXpress
  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay ahead of deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing fundamentals; highly competent in marketing theory and practice
  • Understanding of marketing terms and principles (e.g. market research, competitive analysis, target audience, call to action, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registrations/Certifications preferred: CPSM or similar designation preferred
  • This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
  • This position does manage others.
