WORK SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WAGE: $14.70 - $22.04 per hour

PAY GRADE: 10 (Non-exempt)

PURPOSE:
Assists in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to promote PSTA, to inform the
public about PSTA services, and teach them how to use PSTA for travel around Pinellas County and to downtown Tampa.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes PSTA and transit services to the public with an emphasis on local school, community and business groups. Conducts presentations for business, civic and neighborhood groups and participates in job fairs and related activities to promote transit usage.

Formulates and coordinates special programs, promotions and activities to promote PSTA services, build goodwill and increase ridership.

Conducts outreach activities with local employers through one-on-one meetings, direct mail letters, and presentations about bus service and various PSTA programs.

Coordinates or aids in the coordination of internal events to boost employee morale, and external events to promote PSTA services.

Represents PSTA on both the Pedestrian Transportation Advisory Committee and the Bicycle Advisory Committee sponsored by the MPO.

Coordinates volunteer activities.

Works with other regional agencies in partnership promote transit, PSTA, and various

commute alternatives.

Contributes writing for all Marketing Department publications including On Board News, monthly CEO report, press releases, brochures, FOCUS, PSTA System Map, awards entries, etc.

Performs additional duties as assigned to assist the Director of Marketing and the Manager

of Communications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education : Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or related field with major course work in Marketing, Sales, Public Relations, Graphic Arts, Journalism or related fields.

Experience : Developing outlines and implementing action plans; planning, developing, and implementing promotional programs that generate increased ridership; stimulating public interest and enthusiasm through the development of various outreach programs and campaigns; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with the public and employees; working with various computer software programs; and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

License : Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of : Effective sales strategies and techniques, including promotional campaigns and materials; practices involved in effective office administration and coordination of projects; marketing campaigns that are designed to generate public interest. Competent in computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Strong writing and presentation skills.
