The primary responsibility of the Membership Marketing Administrator (Grade 8) is to continuously cultivate expertise and knowledge of ASQ membership segments using data driven insights and analytics to create/manage integrated member retention, engagement and recruitment marketing campaigns using a Test|Learn|Refine methodology focused on achieving profitable marketing ROI.

SKILLS: Must be skilled and able to demonstrate expertise in interactive and direct marketing campaign management principles focused on engagement and retention of current members and acquisition of new members using a control/test methodology that includes multi-channel delivery methods (e-mail, SEO, PPC, direct mail, call center, etc.). Ability to identify insights using data and analytics to create new go-to-market test plans. Demonstrated work ethic and communication skills; Ability to serve as the primary contact for internal clients.

Exceptional capacity for planning, organizing, prioritizing, and record keeping. Ability to organize and manage projects under tight deadlines. Recognized understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills. Demonstrated capacity for embracing change and learning new technologies. Must possess excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, problem solving, process development, and proofreading skills. Intermediate to advanced skills in PC Windows applications (spreadsheet, database, and word-processing programs) required.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in marketing (strongly preferred), business, or related discipline required.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three to four years of demonstrated experience in B2C marketing campaign management required. Non-profit, association, or agency experience strongly preferred.

1.Partner with internal membership team/stakeholders and market research to fully understand membership trends and insights that impact ASQ for purposes of building a robust strategic membership marketing plan.

2.Develop new or shift current strategies to support changing trends in membership as determined from but not limited to research, campaign results and analytics.

3.Develop and manage the execution of tactical marketing plans designed to deliver on critical membership goals and objectives.

4.Media planning and buying.

5.Develop marketing testing and metrics, and evaluate direct marketing and campaign effectiveness and success in driving key market objectives.

6.Explore and understand key applications of database marketing disciplines. Know how to use effective database marketing as a core strategy to achieve goals.

7.Assist in the development of operating budgets and forecasts for ASQ’s marketing programs; ensure the management of marketing expenses to budget.

8.Work with market research or appropriate external service providers to further understand and acquire effective customer behavior information and/or profile data.

9.Gather, measure, analyze, and communicate member and competitive information to assist in the development of product, promotion, pricing, and distribution strategies for ASQ’s membership.

10.When needed, actively participate on and contribute to org-wide project teams to achieve essential marketing or business objectives.

11.Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Marketing Services.


1.Internal - Extensive contact with staff and management at all levels. Extensive interaction with all Marketing Services staff, Production Services, Web Offerings, and several other ASQ work groups and project teams.

2.External - Extensive contact with suppliers, volunteers, member units, customers and non members.


1.Planning and scheduling. Responsible for planning, developing, scheduling, prioritizing, and implementing marketing strategy that supports key markets.

2.Budgeting and forecasting. Responsible for assisting in the development of the operational budget and forecasts for ASQ markets and marketing services.

3.Responsibility for establishing objectives, policies or standards. Accountable for daily decisions that support and reflect effective marketing policy. Provide input on policies and procedures related to role responsibilities.

4.Impact of decisions. Responsible for marketing plans and activities that directly impacts operating budget and revenue. Decision consequences are strategic in nature (Society image, corporate identification, and Society perception). Make daily decisions for areas of responsibility.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently and in team environments with direction and supervision from the Manager, Marketing Services.
