We have an immediate need for a Marketing Analyst to help us understand our data and communicate about it. This is a critical role that supports all ministry fundraising activities through data analysis, use of reporting tools, and actionable problem solving. In addition, the Marketing Analyst will conduct prospect research. We are not looking for someone that just runs reports! The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working with numbers and details, with experience using data to test hypotheses, and the ability to use reports and analyses to determine if results are valid. Just as importantly, we are looking for a person who enjoys working with others and who likes consulting with colleagues of varying technical levels.

Performs evaluations and problem investigations by working closely with colleagues to try and identify data related problems and solve them

Initiates and manages projects associated with addressing and solving data-related issues, with an emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, and managing timelines

Evaluates fundraising performance and develops conclusions and recommendations

Analyzes donor trends and affinities

Using data from Ministry Advancement Group donor systems, prepares reports and analyses to inform decision making

Works closely with colleagues to develop and implement needed reports and queries

Serves as the primary resource for the use of standard reporting tools from Group donor systems (The Raisers Edge, Blackbaud Direct Marketing, Research Point)

Using Group donor systems and other relevant tools, provides customized dashboards for system users to provide quick glance views of constituent record and gift information

Serves as a consultant to donor system users, including training (group and one-on-one) to solve problems and explain system features and upgrades

Provides high-level research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of biographical, organizational and financial sources (e.g., Wealth Point, database services and other online resources, library and government sources, and other public information). Analyzes and synthesizes acquired information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and affinities. Evaluates results to develop and implement further research strategies

Consults internally and provides recommendations on matters related to portfolio development, solicitation strategy formulation and information gathering through peer screenings. Interprets results and provides direction on the segmentation and management of large groups of prospects and donors identified through the electronic screening process

Performs other related duties, as assigned

3 years experience in a fundraising, marketing, or sales environment. Previous non-profit experience is a plus, as is experience serving as a consultant or advisor to clients with varying technical skill levels

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Marketing, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Prior project management experience

Experience with reporting and data analysis using tools such as Excel, Access, or Crystal Reports

Prior experience with donor systems and associated products, such as The Raisers Edge, Blackbaud Direct Marketing, Blackbaud Net Community, and WealthPoint, is preferred

Prior experience conducting prospect research or gathering and summarizing publicly available information from online and archival sources is preferred

Good people skills, both in communicating and interpersonal interactions

Excellent problem solving skills

Collaborative team-player with a can-do attitude
