Marketing Assistant

PURPOSE: Assist in the creation of content for media, advertising, direct mail and all other marketing/communications collateral per stated objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Represent the credit union at various events including chamber and community functions
  • Serve as liaison between the Vice President of Marketing and local media outlets; scheduling interviews and providing pre-function materials
  • Maintain working knowledge of advertising and marketing legal and regulatory compliance and assist in review of materials
  • Prepare and distribute marketing and sales materials to members/prospective members and corporations. Draft emails, letters, brochures, presentations, and illustrative materials
  • Manage branch merchandising; perform monthly branch audits of all promotional materials including membership packets, rates boards and all other miscellaneous items
  • Contribute to quality efforts at the credit union by providing marketing support and integration throughout the organization
  • Utilize sales, referral, and service skills to respond to the needs of members, vendors, and internal customers
  • Participate on various project teams to ensure growth, development and success of CDC FCU meeting the goals established in the business and strategic plan
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of all special events including grand openings, golf tournaments and community relations events
  • Support new product launches and existing product lines by assisting with the development of internal and external communications plans. Assist in the coordination across all areas of the credit union, including interfacing with branch and member service associates
  • Work closely with the Business Development Coordinator to support business development efforts in the field and provide marketing support (new memberships)
  • Utilize CRM system for target marketing, promotion tracking, and ROI analysis and member research
  • Assist branches or contact center during peak traffic times or staff shortages; requires teller training
  • Member prize or payment fulfillment
  • Handle all other duties as assigned

Marketing Assistant

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • PC literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google or Bing
  • Able to travel locally on a regular basis
  • Able to attend after-hour functions when necessary
  • Able to communicate at all professional levels; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to think and act independently within guidelines and limitations of authority; self-starter
  • Able to exercise confidentially and discretionary judgment
  • Possess strong planning and organizational skills; detail oriented
  • Present and maintain a professional image in accordance with CDC FCUs established dress code
  • Project and maintain a positive attitude with associates and members
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Commitment to Excellence
  • Bondable and have no felony convictions
  • Physically capable of performing assigned responsibilities
