Summary:
The Marketing Assistant will assist the DC Marketing Director and firmwide marketing team participating in a variety of marketing activities, including: production and distribution of client updates; event planning; maintenance of department databases and the Firms suite of marketing materials; administrative and accounting duties; and assisting with production of pitches and other client presentations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the production and distribution of various legal updates sent to clients in detail-oriented process that involves formatting documents for print, web and email, obtaining appropriate approvals from lawyers and colleagues in other offices, posting to the website and other databases, and leveraging relevant client lists.

Work with marketing team to plan and execute firm and client events: staff the events, process registrations, maintain registration lists, coordinate production of all materials associated with events, and post-event follow up.

Coordinate with graphics team to develop and distribute event invitations and sponsorship ads.

Support Marketing Departments responsibilities to other Firm departments (recruiting, CLE, legal personnel and HR, etc.) and outside vendors.

Update and maintain online biographies of DC and Firm lawyers; draft biographies for new associates.

Support the web and intranet teams by providing news to post, confirming status of web and Intranet updates.

Work with colleagues in the DC and other offices and the DC Director of Marketing to submit reports on marketing activities to the firms Management Committee.

Assist in the production of quarterly and annual office reports.

Coordinate lawyer professional photos, including scheduling in-house sessions with the photographer, working with Intranet personnel to upload photos to the intranet site, and maintaining electronic files of all photos.

Manage inventory of client gifts and help to facilitate client entertainment, maintaining contracts with various professional sports teams and organizing and executing the DC offices sports ticket program.

Generate and format marketing materials as requested by department members (in various offices) for pitches, responses to Requests for Proposals, brochures, and external listings and directories. Also enter and maintain records in the Marketing Departments database of pitches and proposals.

Assist with the preparation of the Firms directory submissions.

Maintain accurate records for Marketing Department expenses and prepare check requests for approval.

Maintain contact information for clients, alumni, and friends of the firm in the firms contact management database. Ensure that contact information is accurate and up-to-date and that contacts are associated with proper mailing lists; generate and format reports as needed.

Administrative and other projects as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:Required:
Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university

Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer

Preferred:
Degree in a related area, such as marketing or communications

One to two years experience in a professional environment

Law firm or other professional services industry experience

Proficiency with InDesign and Adobe Acrobat
