This position is a Marketing Consultant in the Global On-Highway Product Support team. The position will have responsibility for leading truck engine parts sales as well as be the driver of dealer development initiatives to enable dealers to take advantage of the opportunities in overall truck product support. Primary responsibility of the incumbent will be truck engine parts sales. The incumbent will work work to develop both parts and service capabilities at dealers to help the dealers capture more of the the truck engine opportunity in their area.

The key role of this assignment is that of an individual contributor who is beginning to develop a reputation as an expert in a specific business segment/specialty area and as one of the best in the company. Expertise may be in a specific product or industry or in a process related to critical distribution related areas such as service, parts or business processes. Individuals demonstrate creativity, foresight, business judgement and outstanding machine application or marketing/distribution knowledge along with the sensitivity to customer financial impact. Incumbents are gaining knowledge, recognition and expertise to influence market requirements, trends and agency regulations.
Continuing to develop applications experience, life cycle cost knowledge of dealers’ and customers’ application, industry and marketplace needs. Provides consulting and project services covering NPI, market and distribution needs to stimulate breakthrough solutions that would help in market leadership. Incumbents are beginning to gain experience in providing direction for future product; distribution and industry needs and continue to improve their skills at sharing this expertise at higher industry levels with business unit management.
Position works independently with considerable freedom of action and is broadly subject to functional policies and ultimate goals. Manages the compliance of its own assignments and keeps up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment.
Must communicate effectively across product, industry, dealer and/or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.
Must have ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit. Generally requires extensive travel to understand regional or worldwide business conditions. Incumbent is developing expertise within national associations, dealers and customer groups.
-Bachelor's level degree
-Experience working with/or for Caterpillar dealers or Truck OEM dealers or have experience with truck engine manufacturer
-Minimum of 5 years experience required demonstrating progressively more responsible positions
-Experience in parts sales and/or service operations
-Ability to persuade others, manage varied workload, lead projects, work independently, demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, and manage a heavy workload
