SUMMARY

The Marketing Intern will be responsible for supporting Alta's fast-paced Marketing Development Department. Tasks performed will include but are not limited to department support, writing, presentations, research/fact finding, facility branding, proof reading, community events, client/prospect visits and other special projects. Will also serve as key resource to the Business Development and Strategy teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist with writing and presentations for a variety of marketing vehicles for both internal and external uses.

Assists with daily operation of the marketing group, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow

Provide research support (online, library, phone-based) for planning, presentations, proposals and other needs

Provides assistance with marketing projects on an as needed basis

Organize and assist in the development of a tracking system for Alta's Marketing & Strategy inventory of materials (premiums, client gift/hospitality items, planning items, displays, etc.)

Provide filing/organization assistance for electronic and hard-copy files and other materials

Provide assitance for client/prospect visits -- presentation materials and set-up, gift/hospitality bags, meetign set-up, etc.

Provide proof reading and fact finding.

Assist with facility displays/branding needs

Assist with community/special events

Provide administrative support within the department

Provide support for on going and as needed Marketing & Strategy projects

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory or leadership responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education requirement required. Current attendance at a college with the intent of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.

TECHNOLOGY SKILL BASE

This position requires a working knowledge of computer technology that includes: Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite. Individuals must possess the ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as introduced by the Client and Alta Resources.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to eight hours, and stand. Manual dexterity which allows the individual to use hands to type on a keyboard, use a mouse and write are required, as is the ability to talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The environment for which this position functions contains scents and fragrances related to product samples that are necessary to have on site in order to complete the essential job functions of this position or others positions within the same area. Due to the nature of this work individuals are required to be on-sight during hours designated by the Client, however, the occasion will arise when the employee must be off-site due to business functions.
